Deviations is a novel that makes reference to the trip like metaphor and motor of the life. Divided in three parts, the main characters, Celso and Marcial, are two young people who prepare themselves for the adult age. Complementary figures, Celso tries to make of his life a alchemic experiment of faustic nature; Martial, however, resigns himself to combine his studies of geography with the businesses of his father, waiting for the day he discovers the sense of his life. In spite of their contrasts, both agree in changing their lives, which will be so strange till then that they would feel that actors and spectators of the most enigmatic adventures enigmatic. Madrid, London, New York, Venice, Hong Kong, Macao, Osaka… are any of the scenes where the itinerary of Marcial and Celso will take them and, as well as the rich gallery of personages that accompanies them.

Ignacio Gómez de Liaño (Madrid 1946), professor of Aesthetic and Theory of Art, has lived in China and Japan for many years. He is one of the main Spanish contemporary Philosophers; his most important philosophical essais are published in Ediciones Siruela.
